Virtual Backpack

KUSD’s Virtual Backpack provides an outlet for the district and community organizations to share events, activities and resources with our families in one easy to access location. Materials and/or activities below may not be sponsored by KUSD or its personnel.

Organizations wanting to add an item to the Virtual Backpack should review聽the聽procedures听补苍诲听Board Policy 1520 prior to submitting requests as outlined.

Items that have expired or that are more than six months old will be removed to keep this page current. If items are removed, they may be resubmitted in alignment with the procedures above for review/consideration.

Kenosha Bradford High School is hosting the Motor Competition on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free event features multiple law enforcement agencies showing off their motorcycle skills. There will be concessions, a K-9 demonstration, raffles and more! 馃弽

The Kiwanis Club of Western Wisconsin is looking for volunteers to make this year鈥檚 Taste of Wisconsin a success. The event will take place July 26-28 at Kenosha鈥檚 lakefront. They especially need volunteers at the following times:

  • Friday
    • 2:45-7 p.m.
  • Saturday
    • 10:45 a.m. – 3 p.m.
    • 3-7 p.m.
  • Sunday
    • 10:45 a.m. 3 p.m.
    • 3-7 p.m.

To volunteer, complete the and specify the time you are available, or let them know if you are open to any times they need. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Summer Youth Sailing Courses

  • Grades 2-5 Youth Sailing Courses: We will teach your child how to sail in a small sailboat in the Kenosha Harbor. We want children to have fun and enjoy the summer while learning how to appreciate and be safe around water.
  • Grades 6-9 Tween Sailing Courses: Youth will develop confidence on & off the water, enhance their respect for water. and learn skills such as jibing, taking, steering, getting out of iron, points of sail, and safety procedures.
  • Grades 10-12 Teen Sailing Courses: Teens will learn about safety, boat parts, rigging, knots, sailing terminology, and points of sail. On-the-water instruction includes tacking and gybing, steering, boat balance, launching, docking, and capsize recovery.

National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that promotes police and community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The Education Foundation of Kenosha (EFK) is holding its 24th annual golf outing on August 12, 2024 at the Kenosha Country Club and is seeking support from the community and surrounding businesses. We are seeking donations, sponsorships and golfers for this annual fundraiser. The Education Foundation provides grants to local KUSD educators and student groups, for projects that enhance their learning but that are not covered under school budgets, as well as student scholarships for college. 聽Proceeds from the golf outing fund these grants and scholarships. A Triathlon for Children and Young Adults with Developmental Disabilities

This is a 鈥榮wim/bike/run鈥 event for children (5 & up) and young adults with developmental disabilities including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, global delays, etc. ALL abilities are welcome, including those that may require the use of flotation devices, adapted bikes, walkers, power wheelchairs, and other assistive devices. All athletes will be paired up with volunteers to encourage, assist and ensure safety.
